Hudson Ranch raises game birds, including turkeys and guinea hens, as well as egg laying hens and meat chickens. Pasture raised and supplemented with grain, the heritage breed birds rotate between the hen house and our custom built mobile chicken coops, until they’re mature.
Chickens
The birds cost more than you’ll pay at the grocery store, but we’re pretty confident that once you taste our chicken, you’ll think it was well worth every penny. Plus, this way you’ll know exactly where your dinner is coming from. Chickens are available for purchase, year round, on an individual basis. Orders can be placed by calling Scott at (707) 227-2906, or at the Fatted Calf. Chickens range between 3 – 4lbs.
Turkeys
We will say right now that this isn’t your Mom’s Thanksgiving Turkey. It’s yours. Start your own tradition this year. The taste is unforgettable and has been known to make in-laws very jealous. Deposits will be taken at the Fatted Calf for turkeys starting September 15, for delivery in mid-November. Quantities are limited so call soon to reserve a bird. Turkeys range in size, from 14-30lbs.
Guinea Hen
If you have yet to try guinea hen, you’re missing out. We can help remedy that situation. Guinea hens are available for purchase nearly year round, on an individual basis. Orders can be placed by calling the Fatted Calf at (707) 256-3684. Each hen ranges between 2.5 and 3.5lbs.
Fresh Eggs
Our eggs are collected from the Hudson hen house and delivered fresh, weekly, to the Oxbow Public Produce market. They can also be purchased at the Napa Farmer’s Market or by calling us directly to place an order.
